GM’s Red Tag Sale gains momentum as the auto major offers some great deals on Cadillac, Saab and Hummer models for 2008 and 2009. GM customers will find strong incentives and bargains at the annual Red Tag sale which started three weeks earlier than usual, on November 6, and runs through January 5. GM’s Sale features some aggressive ad campaigning, and unlike previous years, the sale will encompass all GM brands, including Saab and Hummer. Not included in the sale are the new Chevrolet Corvette ZR-1, Cadillac CTS-V and medium duty trucks.
Some vehicles come with discounts and cash-back offers as high as $7,250. The largest discounts will be found on SUV’s and trucks. The 2008 GMC Yukon Denali AWD will now be available at $9,500 off the MSRP, for the price of $46,830. The 2009 STS V6 1SC comes with a tag of $5,719 off its original MSRP of $55,325. The 2008 Escalade SUV 2WD knocks $10,183 off its original MSRP of $56,890. A 2008 Saab 9-3 Aero Sport sedan is available for $30,145 after the Red Tag sale and cash back; while the 2008 9-5 Aero Sport sedan sells at $32,719 from $39,480. Hummer deals include huge rebates and cash back: the all-new 2009 H3T with the Red Tag Sale gets $1,500 cash back; and drops from $31,495 to $28,188.
Along with the sale, current GM owners will get ‘$2,000-off’ coupons for some 2008 and 2009 models, mailed to them; while a lucky few non-GMAC loan holders will receive $1,500 incentives.
Most automakers pick this time of year, to move inventory before the next model year with incentive programs. GMs annual Red Tag Sale will be expected to boost sales after a slump in October sales figures.
