The 2009 Mitsubishi Outlander is a compact crossover utility vehicle (CUV) available in ES, SE and XLS V6 trims, each with a choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. Power and Performance
A 168 horsepower 2.4-liter, MIVEC four-cylinder engine with 167 lb-ft of torque mated to 2WD or 4WD with Sportronic Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) powers the ES and SE trims.
The XLS V6 is powered by a 3.0-liter, 220-horsepower, SOHC MIVEC V6 engine with 204 lb-ft of torque mated to 2WD or 4WD; six-speed Sportronic transmission with steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.
