The 2009 Land Rover Range Rover is a midsize four-door SUV known for excellent off-road capability and secure handling. The five-passenger Range Rover boasts of elegant interiors and classic British styling.

It is available in HSE and Supercharged trim levels. The standard exterior features of the 2009 Range Rover include alloy wheels (19-inch on HSE and 20-inch on Supercharged); full-size spare tire; one-touch open/close power sunroof with anti-trap function for comfort; electronic parking brake; variable-speed windshield wipers with variable intermittent function and rear-window washer and intermittent wiper.

A six-disc CD changer; audio auxiliary input jack; touch screen interface and 710-watt, 14-speaker Harman/kardon LOGIC audio system provides entertainment. Both trims provide a maximum cargo space of 74.2 cubic feet inside the cabin.

 

Power and performance

 

Two powerful V8 engines are offered on the 2009 Land Rover Range Rover – the 305-horsepower 4.4-liter on the HSE and the 400-horsepower 4.2-liter on the Supercharged trim. Both engines are mated to a standard six-speed automatic transmission and a permanent four-wheel drive with four-wheel electronic traction control. The HSE model races to 60 mph in 8.3 seconds, while the Supercharged takes 7.1 seconds.

 

Safety features

 

The 2009 Range Rover is equipped with a bevy of standard safety features such as a nine-airbag supplemental restraint system; 4-channel, 4-wheel, all-terrain anti-lock brake system; pre-tensioning front seat belt; side-door impact beams in the front and rear doors; front and rear three-point safety belts and adjustable head restraints for all occupants; vehicle security system with keyless entry; front and rear crumple zones; tire pressure monitoring system; collision-activated inertia switch; and child locks for rear doors and power windows.
