The 2009 Jeep Wrangler is a compact SUV with a convertible top offered in two body styles: regular two-door and the extended wheelbase, four-door Unlimited. Three trim levels – X, Sahara and Rubicon – are available.

 

The four-passenger Wrangler offers excellent off-road capability and power. Upgrades for 2009 include hill start assist which mitigates rollback and is now standard across all its trim levels, trailer sway control and a small storage net under the center stack.

The 2009 Jaguar XK-Series is a two-door, four-passenger luxury sports coupe or luxury convertible available in four trims. Nineteen-inch wheels, a surround sound audio system, front parking sensors and power folding mirrors are standard for 2009. Jaguar has introduced a new stereo system and an optional package.

 

  Power and Performance

 

  A 300-hp 4.2-liter V8 engine with 310 pound-feet of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic unit with manual shift control (On XKR trim too), powers the Base XK. The XKR comes with a supercharged version of the same V8 engine rated at 420 hp and 412 lb-ft of torque.

 

  A carryover from 2008, the 2009 Jaguar XK coupes achieve a fuel economy of 16 mpg in city and 25 mpg on the highway. The convertible with the supercharged engine achieves 5-mpg in the city and 23-mpg on the highway.

 

  Body and Styling

 

  The handsome, powerful stance of the 2009 Jaguar XK is a continuation of the iconic styling that is typical of Jaguar since the 1940s. Nineteen-inch wheels, front and rear parking sensors, power folding mirrors, adaptive suspension damping, and bi-xenon HID headlamps make up the exterior.

 

  The interior features the dual-zone automatic climate control with air-quality sensor, Bluetooth and eight-speaker surround-sound stereo, a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel, 10-way power heated front seats with driver memory, leather upholstery, wood trim, and a touch screen control interface. However, the touch screen controls are not so friendly and the backseats are not much comfortable in its class.

 

  The XKR trim comes with some more amenities like different 19-inch wheels, a supercharged engine, larger brakes, and aluminum interior trim and active headlamps. Luxury and Technology Packages are optional while the new XKR dynamic Handling Package and XKR Portfolio Package get more upscale features that add to luxury.

  Front-seat side airbags, traction control, whiplash-reducing front seats, traction control, antilock brakes and a two-way stability control are standard. All XK convertibles come with two aluminum hoops that auto-deploy in the case of a rollover accident.

The Infiniti G is an entry-level luxury midsize car from Infiniti was initially available in both sedan and coupe versions. Introduced as the P10 in 1991, the first two generations were based on the Nissan Primera, while the next two were based on the Nissan Skyline. From the third generation onwards, it has carved a niche for itself independent of Nissan, its parent company.

 

Now in its fourth generation, the 2009 Infiniti G37 is available with an added variant, the convertible. The engine it gets is an upgraded version of what the G35 was given in 2008. The sedan gets a 3.7-liter engine V6 engine from last year’s 3.5-liter (that is why, the name change). Also new for 2009 is the standard seven-speed automatic transmission being made standards across the trims and the revolutionary self-healing paint.

 

The Infiniti G37’s major competitors are Lexus IS; Mercedes C-Class and BMW 3 Series.

The 2009 Infiniti G37 coupe and sedan are offered in new trims: base, Sport 6 MT; Journey and G37x.

 

The standard engine is the 3.7-liter V6 with power of 330 hp and 270 lb ft of torque. The sedan comes with two horsepower lesser and 269 lb ft of toque on the same engine specifications. Specifications and other information for the new convertible have yet to be released.

  The base 2009 Chrysler 300 LX comes only available with rear-wheel drive and a 2.7-liter V6 engine rated at 178 hp and 190 pound-feet of torque. A four-speed automatic is standard. Fuel economy with this engine is 18 mpg city and 26 mpg highway.
